I began collecting pieces for a store more than eight years ago when I was unemployed for a short period of time. Fear got the best of me so my plans were put on hold. I continued to collect my glass dishes and started working on building my bead boxes until my friend needed her shed back so I began looking for a place to open a store. Once the decision was made it all fell into place with the help of family & friends. There were many late nights when we counted & had to restring beads. I was back to work full time along with my part time teaching job so my days were pretty long.
The Beaded Pair store opened in November 2008 as a part time business. My inventory consisted of my personal stash of beads and continues to grow. A year and a half later, the store moved to a new location (7566 Gratiot) with better visibility, and continued there until the store closed late in 2014.
